Revisiting the Sacramento Trip
I never got around to posting any pictures of my trip probably because I was already feeling under the weather by the time I went and was close to being out of it by the time I got back. But I am starting to feel better and ready to share the details of my trip in pictures.
A little bit of background- Joel’s spirit animal is the sloth. I know not so attractive but he was deemed the sloth because he moves at his own pace regardless of his environment’s urgency. Although it does not sound so appealing it does help to balance out the pace on any unnecessary hectic day.
But it is not a power one would like to have on a road trip.

Joel, still unable to control his super power, created traffic on the I-5 North for about an hour or so. I’m not quite sure because I fell asleep. And then I became driver until we got to Elk Grove.
After our long drive up, hunger struck and of course the first thing on our mind was pho. Well not really because Joel and I aren’t really big pho eaters. Nick, being in a new town and all, was missing the pho, so we took him and Jessica to Pho Lotus where a pho race ensued.

The sloth did not win this one. Actually the ranking goes as follows:
#1- Jessica
#2- Nick
#3- Christa (eliminated due to cheating)
#4- Joel (admitted defeat, and asked for tips on how to win next time)
Joel and Nick ended the night with a movie date, they watched Ted, while I napped at Jessica’s house.
The next day…

I had to post a picture of me in my uniform for Jan and Elaine. Yep I’m still wearing it, my favorite summer outfit! And remember safety first.
It was really a beautiful day on the lake. The lake was beautiful by itself. Nature is pretty awesome. It was my first time kayaking and it was enjoyable, hard but enjoyable. We stayed out on the water for about an hour but it was definitely a hot day and hard to splash with iphones and cameras in tow.
After kayaking we headed to Suzie’s, a food spot that Nick said he always wanted to try. It was super cute, with a super simple and yummy menu. The icing on the cake was the $5 pitcher of PBR.

Then we walked around mid-town Sac.

After a long, fun day, me doing what I do best while Joel and Nick went back to downtown Sacramento for the night scene.

I have one more day of fun in Sacramento. I will post the continuation maybe tomorrow, or later.
